Sussex is a village in Waukesha County that is approximately 19 miles northwest of Milwaukee and 9 miles north of Waukesha. The village is just over 7 square miles and is a generally small town in nature. The village had a population of 10,518 as of the 2010 U.S. Census.
The Village of Sussex is home to two major parks, Armory Park and Sussex Village Park that offer tons of different amenities for residents and visitors. Armory Park is 28 acres in size and offers 4 baseball diamonds, an ice skating rink, picnic areas, volleyball courts, and soccer fields. There are also nature trails that run throughout the park and are great for taking a walk with your four-legged friend. Sussex Village Park offers an 18-hole disc golf course, a large playground, a sledding hill, and two lighted tennis courts, along with many other things. Sussex has its own farmer’s market that runs from early June to mid-October. The market is located at the Sussex Civic Center and has great locally-grown products on offers like fruit, vegetables, meat, honey, and more.
